The answer — under UAE law — is not what most people assume.
The Core Legal Principle
A power of attorney is legally independent of your residency status.
This means:
- Even if your residency has expired,
- Or you’ve left the country,
- Or renewed your passport…
Your property power of attorney remains valid —
as long as you haven’t formally revoked it through an accredited revocation document.
✅ A POA terminates only by:
